Ruben Brown, a perennial Pro Bowl left guard for the Buffalo Bills, has retired.
Brown's announcement on Buffalo radio station WECK wasn't a surprise, but it brought his decorated career to an official end. He missed the entire 2008 season while trying in vain to latch on with a team.
"I came to the conclusion it's time to hang it up," Brown said. "I'm going to officially retire this week. I'm going to submit my paperwork to the NFL. ... I am terminating my active playing days.
"It's a wrap. There's no more football for me. They're always inquiring if I'm done. Yeah, that's it. There's no more. It was an awesome ride."

Didn't even know he was still playing, who did he play for last year?

Is he a Wall of Famer or HOFer?

He's a borderline one imo. When he was good he was one of the best in the business but his name carried him on for years.

Thanks for the great years Reuben! :bf1:

If it's more than 2 sentences I generally don't read it.

Awesome! That means we will have a franchise LT for years to come!

We sorely missed Reuben Brown when Villarial took over that spot.
An over the hill RBrown was still better than what the Bills had since, until paying for Dock 2 years ago.

So people around here didn't say that Brown got in the Pro-Bowl because of his name?

Didn't Peters just do that this year?

Even if he was, he was really friendly to me and I had a good experience when I met Rueben and I hope he retires a Bill and gets into the HoF.

Peters hasn't been in the LT position long enough to be a name in that position.

If you ask some fans from other teams who the bills LT is they won't even know.
