Apparently according to http://www.maddenmania.com Mr. Travis Henry was being considered for the Madden 2004 cover and he was one of 4 potentials including Derrick Brooks, Rich Gannon, and of course Mike Vick who wound up on the cover. Here's a pick of the considered cover:

well if u actually look at it it doesnt look like a new cover just new picture and year and we probally would have heard about it alot sooner. at first i was like cool but noticed the background was same as a previous year so good job schobel
