One guy comes back, another goes out. (At forward)

Jochen Hecht is back in the Buffalo Sabres' lineup for tonight's game against Montreal in HSBC Arena, but now Paul Gaustad is out.

Coach Lindy Ruff said this morning that Gaustad will be out indefinitely with an undisclosed upper-body injury suffered on his final shift in Wednesday's win over Toronto.

"We can start [pinpointing a return] probably in a couple weeks," Ruff said. "Hopefully it will be around that period. We get Jochen back and obviously we need somebody to fill that hole."

That's a trade down. And it means Paille won't get benched :opiv:

hockey injuries are weird. You see a guy barely able to get off the ice go to the locker room (like Rivet), and 10 minutes later he's back out like nothing happened. Another guy like Gaustad plays the whole game with no obvious injuries, and 2 days later they announce he's out indefinitely.

It happened on the last shift with Goose.

Is it me or is this guy hurt a lot?

I broke this down elsewhere when the same question came up:

05/06 - 78 games
06/07 - 54 games
07/08 - 82 games

The 06/07 season was when his tendon was slice by a skate - a fluke injury.

He has been banged up this year though.

He's one of the only ones who consistently hits people. I love this guy's work ethic.
