It's an overwhelming feeling.
New city, new faces, new workplace and a playbook that makes those college textbooks seem like Reader's Digest.
But every NFL rookie has to deal with new surroundings and 24 fresh faces descended on Reliant Stadium tonight for the Texans' first mini-camp of 2003.
After an orientation session led by head coach Dom Capers, the players broke up into offense and defense meetings. Tomorrow they will hit the field for the first time as Texans.
Capers noted this weekend will seem fast and furious but there is a purpose behind it. Actually, three purposes.
"There are three primary things we want to get out of this camp," Capers said. "One, we want to indoctrinate you into our system. Two, we want teach you our philosophies. And three, we want to evaluate you on the field."
