The Buffalo Sabres might be shopping Nathan Gerbe, if the right deal came along. last night at the game against the Carolina Hurricanes Regier was seen talking to other teams scouts about making a trade and one of the proposals was for Nathan Gerbe. Gerbe has played in 37 games and has 20G,17A, good for 37 pts. for the Portland Pirates The scouts that were at the game last night were Pittsburgh, Florida, Tampa Bay, Toronto, Anaheim, Edmonton, Dallas and Columbus.
the Sabres are interested in Jay Bouwmeester, and a Gerbe for Bouwmeester deal straight up might work out. The 6'4" Bouwmeester is a stay at home defenceman who can check and block shots something that the Sabres have needed ever since Jay McKee left for St. Louis. A defence pairing of Bouwmeester and Rivet would give the Sabres a shut down defence on the blue line.

I wonder what crack they are smoking. There is no way in hell Florida will give up Bouwmeester for Gerbe straight up. Toss in a veteran player and maybe we have a deal, but definitely not straight up.
