McShay: Bills interested in Kelley Washington

Two AFC East rivals already have reached out to Kelley Washington, the receiver and special teams-contributor the New England Patriots released on Tuesday.

Washington's agent, Chad Speck, said Washington will meet Thursday with the New York Jets and has been contacted by the Buffalo Bills about visiting next week.

Buffalo would seem to provide more playing time for the 6-foot-3 Washington. James Hardy, last year's second-round draft pick, will miss the offseason while rehabbing from knee surgery. After Lee Evans, the Bills' top targets are 5-foot-10 Josh Reed and 5-foot-9 Roscoe Parrish.

maybe he can give us insight on the Pats playbook, then we can cut him. "Fast Freddy" Smith, anyone?

Sweet! Now we can have 3 WRs who are only serviceable as special teamers!!

              Don't knock him yet.

I feel that with another year of experience for both him and Jenkins, they'll rise to become one of the top gunner tandems in the entire league.

Nothing wrong at all with adding him for the offseason.

Maybe he can give Ralph pointers on how to run the organization.

Don't we already have enough useless WRs that can only contribute on special teams?

What's the point of even having interest in this chump?

                    Seriously.

i think he will come in and be a special teams guy and a receiver reserve. i really think steve johnson will get a good bit more playing time this year, especially if hardy isnt healthy.

Now if this was NATE (Steelers) Washington I'd be a bit more excited.

Kelley Washington isnt a bum or anything,,, he can play and be a contributor on offense. He has just had bad luck being on teams that are very deep at WR (Bengals, Pats). I think given the chance he can have an impact as a consistent offensive player.

He might give Hardy a run for his money...

He was a big time WR at Tennessee years ago and was expected to be a good NFL WR with good size and speed.

                              6'3, 215, 4.41 40

Was a 1000 yd WR at Tennessee in 2001, got hurt in 2002

                              2003-22 cactches, 299 yards, 4 TD
                              2004-31 catches, 378 yards, 3 TD

Since then he hasnt played a full season but when he does he appears to really play well. Those numbers would easily have made him our #3 WR this past year. He'll come cheap, he can play ST, he has good size, good speed, and he has WR ability. Its a low risk signing, I like it.
                              COMING SOON...
