Why would Jason Brown be on the Fins radar, dont they have Samson Satele?

Rumor is they want to move Satele to OG, but its all over KFFL. Brown is one of Miami's top FA targets.

He knows the D and was our best LBer before injury if he is healthy he will be the cheapest option for us and still be a huge upgrade over Ellison
this signing fills a whole and we wont have to over pay for him like we do most other FAs

                  Re: MY new Offseason

Personally I'd like us to shift to the 3-4

In that case I would look as a priority, Mike Wright of the Patriots.

With Wright-Stroud-Johnson, we will have a decent front 3. Williams and Denney can provide depth at NT and DE respectively

I would look to draft Everette Brown or Aaron Maybin in R1 to give a linebacker corps of Brown or Maybin - Poslyzny - Mitchell - Schobel.

                  So free agency looks like

                  Mike Wright E/T
                  Jake Grove C/G
                  Zac Keasey FB
                  Kyle Boller QB

and Todd Heap TE if he is released

In the draft - and I am assuming we may look to get rid of the Lynch headache for similar compensation to McGahee, I would hope to go.

                  R1 Everette Brown OLB/DE
                  R2 Kenny Britt WR
                  R3 Rashad Jennings RB
                  R3 A Q Shipley C (Lynch pick)
                  R4 Cody Brown OLB/DE
                  R5 Courtney Greene SS/FS
                  R6 Don Gronkowski TE
                  R7 Gerald Cadogan LT

                  We'd also have a R3 pick in 2010

                    Re: MY new Offseason

We need a big physical FB to pave the way for Jackson, however I still would not want to trade down..

                    1.) Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas
                    2.) Alex Mack, C, California
                    3.) Louis Murphy, WR, Florida
                    4.) James Casey, TE, Rice
                    5.) Brandon Southerland, FB, Georgia
                    6.) Alex Fletcher, C, Stanford
                    7.) Marcus Thigpen, RB, Indiana

                    Free Agents:

                    Angelo Crowell, LB, Buffalo
                    Todd Heap, TE, Baltimore

That's my best case scenario if we don't land Haynesworth.

Seems like another year of not making the playoffs, if that is our offseason.

                        bjackson@MiamiHerald.com

After the 2007 draft, then-Dolphins general manager Randy Mueller spoke of second-round pick Samson Satele having Pro Bowl potential. But after a postseason analysis, this Dolphins administration has decided it must upgrade at center and has interest in signing Baltimore free agent Jason Brown, according to two people in contact with Miami's front office.
The Dolphins want a center bigger than Satele (295 pounds) and one who will create more of a push on running plays.

Here would be mine (yes its not a thread this time)

Resign- Freddy, Chambers, Duke, Crow, Greer, and Ellison

                              Cut- Royal, Kelsay, McNtire

Trade- McGee and 5th for Kellen winslow. McGee demands a high 2nd early 3rd on his own, Winslow demands a 3rd and 4th, I think its a good deal. Buffalo needs a PC Tight end, Cleveland needs a CB.

                              FA

Marvin Harrison WR- 1-2 year vet, will play while Hardy and Johnson groom to 2-3s and possibly number 1 recievers.
                              Seth Wand G- Depth
                              Seth McKinney G- Depth
                              Kyle Boller QB- Vet Depth
Collin Cole DT- Decent DT from GB. With Sanders as DL coach, we have a better chance than most teams at getting him.
                              Rudi Johnson RB *- Depth

                              * Only if Lynch gets suspended.

                              Draft

1st- Brian Orakpo DE- Best pass rusher period
2nd- Alex Mack C- Best center
3rd- Jaron Gilbert DT/DE- Situational PR on DE/DT
                              4th- Sherrod Martin S- Playmaker
6th- Quinn Johnson FB- Blocking FB
                              7th- Drew Willy QB- Homeboy
