    Ouch...Pettigrew just ran 4.85/4.97

Not that I really care too much about the Combine, what really matters is his playing history. However, that solidifies the fact that I would not be happy if this Bills took this guy. It would be just more of the same from that position. Hopefully they go after a TE that would make more of an impact in the passing game.

considering his off-field problems he might not even be a Day1 pick now

ya i dont want him with the first pick even if he ran a 4.5

Hes not a big enough game changer to warrant taking that high.

Well ok. The consensus top TE is no longer a 1st rounder. That is actually pretty good news.

Jared Cook got me excited with a sub 4.5 40 though. Cook has plenty of size too. He just needs to learn how to block is all.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

At this point, I'm not to worried about the blocking. I just want a TE that can produce some mismatches and make some plays.

Anyone who watched him knows hes a player. I dont much care if hes slow. Witten wont blow anyone away.

I like speed, id rather have it. But without it, you can still be very good if your strong... the guy is a beast.

He would be a great pickup for us... But no, not in the 1st round.

If we traded down a bit then picked him up I would be happy. He can BLOCK, which is just as important. Hes got size and can catch with his hands. Thats an instant upgrade over everything we have now. Currently we have adequate blockers, suspect receivers, and we cant seem to figure out if they are TE's or FBs.

He doesnt have blazing speed, but how does straight line speed convert to a first and goal from the 7, when hes going to run a up and out. Give me a guy who will bully the LB then get seperation, only to finish it off by catching it with his hands.
Buy land in AK now. In ten years due to global warming, it will be the new tropical paradise, minus the tropics

                        Cook is your man...

But, it looks like NFL.com is saying his time was 4.50... not 4.42, but hes still the fastest and thats quick for a TE.

Witten ran something 4.67ish, and was had in the 3rd.

I'm just saying.... he might still be there for ya in the second now. Isn't that good news?

How many tight ends ever have to run a strait 40 on the field.

Times are the most over rated stat at the combine.

Very true, but Pettigrew isn't a difference maker at the TE position. This team doesn't lack a good blocking TE, they lack a TE who can make plays and open up the defense for the other WRs.
