Kirwin & I think Carucci had Perry Fewell on for fifteen minutes during the NFL Network's combine coverage over the weekend. Talked a bunch about the interview process, what type of questions they ask, etc.

As far as specifics, he said that they'd really like to add a playmaker at DE or LB. When asked if there was a DE that really caught their attention at the combine, Fewell said Tyson Jackson. Said he was a guy big enough to be tough against the run, and that they could see working in at DT as well. Perry said that they like his versatility in that regard, and were hugely impressed at the football knowledge and composure he displayed in the interview.

Fewell wasn't necessarily talking about Jackson at #11, just noting that they really liked him.

Take it for what it's worth this time of year.

They will have to trade up to get him, possibly back into the 1st round.

Or trade down, which I think is the more likely scenario.

This might be the year to do it. Our critical needs at DE and Center may make trading down easier to swallow than in previous years. None of the early to mid first round ends seem like a good fit for us. To get a top tier Center this year, we may need to grab him in the second round. Its a weird year.

as long as we address our needs ill be happy.

I think Jackson is 100% what we don't need at the DE position.

he's slow, doesn't change direction well, has no real DE moves, and at 290lbs he is projected at a tweener DE / DT for a 4-3

We need a guy who is quick, strong, has some moves and cna get ot the QB on a regular basis. Jackson doesn't appear to be that guy at all, although he is stout against the run.

In this video, Perry sounds confused. Looks like this team is a circus. He talk about looking for guys to fit their scheme yet guys like Spencer and Stroud don't but they still made this team better. MOving Whitner around sue to injury. etc. etc.

They are looking for players that are playmakers, etc.etc.etc. Dude, it's your fourth year and you're still talking as if we're in rebuild mode.

This is absolutely why I think Dick will never be a sb coach. This team sound lost.

Why do we want a DE/DT rather than a pass rush specialist? Hope we find that LB.

i think maybin is the best pure pass rusher, and will be our pick
