Interesting. Maybe a safety will be a FA target.

Not a surprise. We ended the season with him at free safety. No reason to think he won't stay there, even without signing another safety this off season.

I predicted in the first free agent to sign pool that it will be a safety

I think he will be the kind of playmaker that some of us contemplated at FS.

Hmmm. Gibril Wilson would look good in the back field next to Donte. Phillips wouldn't be bad either.

I'd like Wilson, Jones or Phillips next Donte and in that order.

honestly I'd be pretty OK with Scott and Whitner back there. Ko showed much less than Whitner, which is more of a knock on Ko than a compliment to Whitner. However if we can get a Sean Jones or Gibril for a decent price, I'd be ecstatic, especially Jones becuase I think he was a real good player in a s***ty secondary there in Cleveland. Plus I think Wilson will 1) demand more than Jones and 2) was sortof a product of his environment there with the Giants. With that much pressure, it can make the secondary look awful good. Still, I'd take both over Scott or Ko.

I really like Sean Jones and would think he would be excellent next to Whitner, also Scott could come in and provide excellent coverage and ST play and Depth
SS wont comand a huge salary this is something that shores up a problem area in my opinion we need playmakers not stop gaps

I'll have to find it but there was article written about the move. The staff recoginized the amount of punishment SS's are taking in the league and they want to keep Whitner out of the box and in coverage more. Especially since Scott seemed to make more big plays when he was up in the box.

I honestly think it is already a done deal he'll be at FS full time next year.

I like it. He did a nice job when he took over at FS and Bryan Scott held his own at SS. If we can't find a better SS, I'm fine with those two.

dont forget.. whitner was injuried the last part of the year while he was playing FS. So he should be even better than he was.

Injured is an understatement. IMO, he shouldn't have even been on the field. I think they said he was at something like 60%
