Rumor: If Taylor signs, Bills could look to trade Lynch

Bills | Could Lynch be traded?
    Tue, 24 Feb 2009 07:17:31 -0800

Mark Gaughan, of The Buffalo News, reports the Buffalo Bills could explore the possibility of trading RB Marshawn Lynch should they be able to sign free-agent RB Fred Taylor (Jaguars). The team already has a capable backup in RB Fred Jackson, so it may be difficult to sign Taylor if he thinks he's going to be the third wheel in the Bills' backfield. If the Bills were to convince Taylor to sign, it could trigger an attempt to trade Lynch.

That's what I was thinking when I first heard that we had interest in Taylor to be honest.

i highly doubt that we trade lynch he is way to young to give up on him
        he is only 23
he is only gonna get better
i am in favor of signing Taylor as a mentor to teach lynch some manors

If we deal Lynch our entire draft board changes dramatically. I love to get more picks though...

I am pretty sure I would be pissed. I am done choosing a favorite player.

What could the Bills get for Lynch? Late 1st early 2nd?

the best we'll get for Lynch is a 2nd. Too much baggage to warrant a 1st... plus his imminent 4 game suspension

If we can resign Greer. We can package a deal to Texas for Daniels and still have the majority of our picks in tact.

Personally Id shoot for mid 2nd and a pick (maybe 2) 4th (and 7th). The draft is deep all over and have three picks on Day 1 is huge, imo. Question becomes who are the potential trading partners??

It sounds like this is Mark Gaughn's speculation rather than a little bird he heard at one Bills drive. I don't mind speculation or rumors attributed to unnamed sources inside the organization. I appreciate when they are clearly labeled.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.

That's why there is it the If and could in the title, but Ill add rumor to the thread title so as to stop any further confusion.

The 'If' is pertaining to the signing of Taylor, not the trading of Lynch.

I'd could see a list of possible partners to include Seattle, Cleveland, Denver, KC (if they deal/cut LJ) and Tampa to name a few teams that seem to lack a feature back.

Yes which is why the "Could" pertains to the possibility of the trade happening.
