    sign derrick brooks

    Reasons:

    1. He is one of the best linebackers to EVER play in the NFL.
    2. He is still good, even if he may not be as quick as he used to be he.
    3. He's a smart, veteran LEADER on defense.
    4. He most lilely would sign a 2-3 year deal, and we could groom a young LB
    5. Has played in the Cover 2 defense almost his entire career.
    6. Hes won a Super Bowl.
    7. He's been to the Pro Bowl multiple times.
    8. He's won Defensive MVP
    9. We need a linebacker
    10. He's better than Keith Ellison, Paul Posluszny, Kawika Mitchell, Jon Corto, Tedy Lehman, Blake Costanzo, Marcus Buggs, and Alvin Bowen could ever hope to be.
The last time the Bills made the playoffs was 1999.

11- His options should he desire to keep playing would be limited to teams in a cover two. I dont see Indy spending the money on him. Not a lot of other teams for him to choose from

Having said that--- the Bills RARELY sign a FA on the other side of 30.

im down with brooks. he probably knows more about cover 2 than fewell does. he would be a phenomonal leader and mentor to this entire defense.

He's also going to be 36 years old in April, and statistcally at least he's regressed big time.

I see him either retiring or going to a team that is expected to contend.

Never though, put it this way.. I aint gonna be MAD if we sign him.

          Re: sign derrick brooks

I've lived in Tampa for the last 12 yrs and Brooks has always hinted that he would rather retire than go to a new team. My guess is that he's done.

his play dropped of SIGNIFICANTLY last year. his production was not good. if he was still a good player, they would not have let the leader of the team go.
