SO it costs us 5.4 million in cap space to release the guy. We save nothing.

Pure genius move... we save nothing and we create a hole.

Does this make sense to anyone ? I would rather have kept Dockery on the books for another year even as a backup if it was going to cost us cap space to release him.

Wow. I'm surprised. And congrats to Pat.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

Didn't show he was worth the money we paid him...for this year it doesn't help much as illustrated by Clump in other threads...but is a wise business and personnel move for the future.

Mad props to Pat for calling this one earlier!

                Clump, could we cut Dockery?

Or would it kill us cap- wise? I am thinking it could free up some money and maybe we could get better bang for the buck elsewhere?

does this make him the worst free agent signing ever for the Bills then? he certainly didnt come close to earning any of that money he made the last 2 years

                      Interesting.

Either the Bills FO has big plans, and has already lined up a replacement that is going to impress the hell out of us, or they just screwed up spectacularly.

I'm hoping it's the former, I expect it to be the latter.

I think this is a good sign. Istead of keeping him and not admitting an organizational mistake they have moved on. Name wise, we have a hole, but do we really? He has been barely mediocre since he has been here.

OK, if they can cut Dockery, why not Royal and Kelsay? I'll be waiting.

So the blog is wrong ?

The Bills will have to accelerate $5.4 million against their cap, but a big contract is off their books. And Dockery is on the market.
They said it accelerated 5.4 million or am I reading it wrong
