Interesting article about the Flyers. Yeah they have Cechmanek but Hitchcock doesn't seem to be a fan.
....Clarke should target Buffalo's Martin Biron in a trade. The Sabres have three goalies: Biron, Ryan Miller and Mika Noronen. They believe each can be a No. 1 guy in the NHL. Biron is technically sound and would better fit Hitchcock's defensive system.
The Flyers have long operated on the belief that the fans expect a Stanley Cup contender every year. And they do.
Yet it's time for Clarke and chairman Ed Snider to take a step back, go with youth, build for the future, and weather the storm ahead. The next collective bargaining agreement two years down the road is going to change how business is done in the NHL.
Now's the time to get a head start.....
I wouldn't mind a bruising defenseman and Sami Kapanen in return.
