if most of the thoughts around this board come true and our biggest signings are the likes of florence, and winborn... man i feel sorry for us because no 2 picks in the draft weather it is 2 first rounders or a 1st and a 2nd will fix enough to be a playoff team next year. you cant sign 2nd tier free agents bring in (for instance) everett brown and say ok rookie get 12 sacks this year, or bring in (for instance) chase coffman and say catch 50 balls for 600 yards and 4 TDs, it isnt going to happen. we are going to have to spend money on a couple free agents or no one will buy tickets, ralph has to at least be that smart. i just visited back home (buffalo) and talked with all my family and friends and no one is renewing season tickets for a dick jauron lead team that cuts the likes of derrick docery only to add jamie winborn? especially if marshawn is gone for 2-4 games and we have no new studs on the team, who is going to pay to watch our team get hammered and watch dick make stupid decisions? especially when its free to watch from TV with the economy how it is.

Re: feeling bad for the fans
Yeah, well I feel sorry for the glass half full guys that have predicted the Bills making the playoffs before every season this decade.
Big names aren't interested in coming to Buffalo when so many other better teams also have millions to spend. Be realistic, these big name players are all being courted by the same teams - Skins, Jets, Eagles, Cowboys, Bucs, etc, so why would they ever choose Buffalo?
I am confident the FO will do everything they can to land a big fish. I just don't think the bait will be enough.
So the Bills will have to sign the 2nd tier FAs and hope they overachieve. They have more holes then they can realistically fill with quality FAs and draft picks. Looking at next years schedule, even winning 7 games will be very difficult.
Not being negative, just realistic. And hey I'm here at 3am hoping I'm wrong.Buffalo Only and Always.

Sorry but I won't believe it. To all those people that say Ralph is cheap and won't spend money, it's proven time and time again how wrong they are. I refuse to believe that we cut Dockery and Royal without a plan. I honestly believe that our first player will be that C/G from Carolina and will sign one other guy later today. I'm thinking it will be Matt Birk.

Bills | Hangartner to visit Friday
Thu, 26 Feb 2009 21:57:08 -0800
Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports free-agent OL Geoff Hangartner (Panthers) will visit the Buffalo Bills Friday, Feb. 27.
--------------------------------------------------
But anyway.. The Bills didn't have a specific plan in place with cutting Dock and Royal.. They cut them because they were FLAT OUT underachievers.
