OK, normally I wouldn't pay much attention to an undrafted free agent rookie. However, I noticed a news report that suggested both Van Pelt and Travis Brown were terrible at the recent minicamp. It's probably rust, but if they continue to be terrible, Buffalo could be forced to make other arrangements to back up Bledsoe. That got me looking at Buffalo's undrafted pickup, Jason Johnson out of Arizona. Apart from any scouting report, I know he's pretty raw and played under duress last season (Arizona had no running game), but an article I'm posting a link for suggests he might have a health issue. A family member suggested that it was good for him to go to Arizona because it was good for his breathing. Anyone know anything about this?

Im not sure as to his condition, but it could be as minor as Asthma, I know that any climate with clean air is a good condition for an asthmatic.

Yeah, that would be the most obvious possibility.

Has Van Pelt been eating too much poporn(butter in the middle and top) again?

I would feel better getting a vet in here cheaper then AVP- AVP seems like he's getting fat on that new contract.

We need Bledsoe insurance.

Certain allergies can also wreak havoc with some people. I know of more than a few people who said they are moving or would like to move to Arizona because their allergies wouldn't bother them there.

How well I know, Doc. I've had allergies since I was 5 years old. Right now I'm on Flonase. That seems to work about as well as anything for the upper respiratory stuff. I still have to take an occasional antihistamine when my eyes start burning. If this Johnson has bad allergy problems he might have difficulty coping in WNY. Dozerdog, I think you're probably right. The question is who might be available. The plain truth is there probably is not much quality out there.

I could see Shaun King ousted from TB, they have Johnson and drafted Simms

Seems like Jason Johnson is well loved by everyone. Stick him in a movie theater and shove popcorn down his face, he'd make a good AVP mini me.

King wouldn't be much shorter than AVP. Buffalo could probably do worse. I like most of what people are saying about Johnson. His size is OK. He's got a good arm. He played 2 seasons at Arizona but is reportedly pretty raw. I think he's must have had poor coaching, and not having a running game would skew just about everything he was doing. He'll probably have to unlearn a bunch of bad habits. I can't see him contributing this year, but if he goes on the practice squad and the Bills are patient, he might be able to do something in the future.

Don't worry about Jason Johnson. He won't make the team and will prolly get cut like 2 weeks into training camp.
