He is the best mediocre player on a mediocre team...If he doesn't get the perfect setup to use his slap shot or isn't in a shot out(which goalies are catching on to), he is 100 percent useless.

See how S11 tried to trick us all there. He gave himself a loophole. There is no Alex Kotalik on this team, therefore we can't trade him. Ales on the other hand, that might be possible.

Kotalik is fine for what he is - a 3rd line guy who scores 20 a year and is good in shootouts. Is he average? Sure. But he is not expensive either.

The question should be, "what would you give up if the Sabres ACTUALLY made a deal that improves this team?" Now, you might get more people giving things up that way!
