One key ingredient that is needed on every team is leadership. I feel the Bills have lacked this key component for a few years now.
To me a leader leads by example both on the field and off. One could argue that Whitner wants to be the leader but I think that is part of the problem he is not a great on the field leader that inspires the other players by great play.

Do you see any great leader on this team or who in free agency would make a great leader to help this club?

Great question. We have a lot of quiet types. Maybe Butler on O; Mitchell or Poz on D? Whitner c/b if he made more plays.... I don't know, man..

Id say on D its should be Stroud, is Whitner, and could be Mitchell. On O it should be Edwards and possibly Coles or Walker bearing that Coles is signed.

Good post, and this is the very reason I think Brian Dawkins should have been a big, fat target.

I agree completely...We needed a player like Dawkins or Ray Lewis to show these young guys what it takes to win and teach them how to play with not just an attitude but a winning attitude.

Not to bash Whitner, but I saw Dawkins make more plays in the third quarter of that "play-in" game vs Dallas in week 17, then I seen Whitner make in his entire career.

Dawkins was perfect in terms of making plays and being a leader.

^ its sad when there is a LB making more INTs in 1 quarter than in your whole career.

This team's leaders are the wrong guys to be leaders...ie - Kelsay. A guy who is terrible and produces nothing for this team should never be one of your top leaders.
