TJ is definitely better than Lee, but we needed to overpay in order to make sure he stayed here...

Only because he was the only big-name FA WR this year.

Sorry, but $8 mil/year, including $15 mil guaranteed for a soon to be 32-year old WR who's never been a true #1 (other than last year when CJ was hurt)?
        I think that's too much.

This does not bode well for us and Coles. Cincy and Minnesotta could now both jump in after Coles.

But it does bode well to maybe seeing Crabtree drop in the draft further.

            Agreed..

I've been saying since the combine he's going to be there at 11, and I think if he gets past Oakland at #7 that's definitely happening.

And you're spot on about Coles.

Even if CRabtree was there at #11, with what we're doing in FA do we even have the luxury of drafting a rookie WR at #11?

Is there really any realistic chance that he falls to us?

TJ will be what, 36 in the last year of his deal?

Lee will be 31... Huge difference.

A lot of people have been saying its possible but nobody knew that SEA would land TJ which decreases their need and now Oakland is left but they actually may covet Maclin or Harvin above Crabs.

If Crabtree is there at #11 he is the pick and its an easy selection. This is clearly what they feel is the #1 issue right now going into next season, I expect our pick at 11 to be Crabtree or Maclin if the draft was tomorrow.

Oakland, Cincy, San Fran are the last major hurdles at this point. I expect Oakland to be the only real suitor. I can see Cincy landing Coles and San Fran needs help everywhere and may go with Sanchez or Stafford at 10. So yes its a reality now.

                      I don't see any way that's possible.

Even if he gets past 5-6, some team that really needa a WR or just feels they can't pass him up will make a deal to move up to the 7-10 area to get him.

Even with the injury, I bet he's still the #1 overall player on several teams' draft boards.

I disagree, Davis loves numbers and measureables...Crabtree doesnt have them like a guy like Maclin or Harvin does. I dont think Davis misses on him either, but I can never count Al Davis in the sane category. If Maclin comes out at one of his two pro days and runs a sub 4.35 40, its over. You may as well go ahead and hand him the black and silver hat.
