MINNEAPOLIS -- Who are these people and why are they still playing hockey?
It is a question that can be asked individually of the Minnesota Wild. And it is a question that can be asked collectively.
"We all have stories in here," says Wes Walz, one of the Wild's best forwards. In his case, he still is playing hockey because he loves the game and because the National Hockey League expanded.
As a result, he figured EV Zug and HC Lugano, for whom he had toiled for most of four seasons in Switzerland, could do without his services.
He came back to North America and signed with the Wild as a free agent. At the moment, he is among the top 10 in the playoff scoring race. ....more...
