Kotalik will fit in nicely with the Oilers. Especially since we gave you guys nothing.

He's good for one shootout goal and one good check a month. Enjoy!

Hope he works out for you. He isn't much of a worker, maybe for you he will change. He has talent, a cannon for a shot (when he hits the net) and a pretty good shootout move.

I wondered how this whole thing went down, but I kind of think that Regier didn't talk to Lowe at all.

and btw, all the knocks in this thread are NOT just sour grapes. Most of us in this forum have been ripping on this guy for at least two years. Do a search if you want proof.

My biggest complaint with him is that he's HUGE but does not use his size. And it's not like he's a speedy finesse player either- that's not his style. He'd really benefit from throwing his weight around more, but he rarely does it.

Lowe is no longer the GM. He's the VP Of operations

I think this was a three way trade. LA-Car-Edm

Carolina got Cole back from LA we got O'Sullivan from LA. DOn't know how the Kotalik trade worked.

He's 6' or 6'1", but is about 220. He has good size, not huge, but you are right, he rarely ever uses it.

If somehow you could piss him off every night before a game, he would be really good.

he also uses his rocket of a shot to squarely hit the crossbar a lot. it's maddening.

He somehow has avoided being traded for about 3 years now. perhaps he'll do better with a new surrounding.

I hope the change in scenery does him well. If not, meh.

Hope he works out for you guys NBF. He has one of the hardest shots in the NHL, is one of the most successful players when it comes to shootouts, and is a horse because of his size. Unfortunately, his demeaner is that of a comatose possum on Valium. He never sticks up for anyone, he takes nights off from checking and being aggressive, and he always coughs up the puck at least 2-4 times a game where it turns into a score going the other way or a dumb penalty. I hope the change of scenery does him good also.

The thing is that most other guys in the NHL who are 6'0 or 6'1 are in the 190 range and there aren't too many guys in the 220 weight range at any height. Compared to most of the guys on the ice, he's huge.
