Jimmy Kennedy's first steps as a Ram have been problematical.

On Friday morning, the Rams completed stretching drills at the start of their first minicamp practice. The defensive linemen trotted to the back corner of the Rams Park grass practice fields.

There, under the tutelage of defensive line coach Bill Kollar, their very first drill was as simple as it comes in football.

"We call it a 'get-off' drill," Kollar said. "I snap the ball, and they come out of their stance."

That's it. The idea is to work on coming out of your stance quickly and with proper technique.

"It's something you've been doing since the third grade, and something you end up doing about a million times," Kollar said.
