It's do or die for Trent

While this team has pressing needs at DE, LB and the interior of the OL, Trent Edwards remains a huge concern for me. He's still unproven, and while he's shown flashes of adequacy, he's also been horrendous at times.

First, if he can't get the job done throwing to Lee Evans and TO, then he's not the guy. TO and Lee is one of the better starting WR tandems in the league and Trent really can't ask for more than that.

Second, if Trent struggles and can't get TO the ball, there's a good chance he'll blow up and become a locker room distraction.

So, while the TO signing should make Trent's life easier, it also puts more pressure on him.

    I agree.

I'm also concerned with Trents back up should Trent get injured.

Trent has a lot to prove this season. Poor play will result in the search for a new starting QB once again!

I think this is a great opportunity for TE. But it's too much opportunity to give to a third year guy who has trouble staying on the field. It's hard for me to rationalize making this signing and not getting another QB on the roster like Jeff Garcia. If you plug Garcia into this offense now he could take it to the superbowl if the defense plays well.

It's disappointing they seem to be making too much of a commitment to TE & not going about the business of winning a championship any way they can. Now, it looks like it's TE's job to win the championship so if that one guy can't get it done neither can the other 55.

            Agreed. Last chance. No excuses.
The Bills' QB trash heap is already too big.

This is definitely Trent Edwards' last chance. If he can't perform in Buffalo this season and keep both Evans and Owens happy, then it's time for him to go.

I think it's going to be hard to get the ball to Evans and Owens enough for both of them to be satisfied. Not to mention, we have one of the best RB tandems in the NFL. All of the sudden our offense could be deadly but it will all depend on the O-line and Trent.

Trent has the weapons now, he needs to prove he is a #1 QB in the NFL.

One thing is for certain, you can't say Buffalo lacks weapons for Trent anymore.

Exactly! Now they just have to finish building the line. Let's go KC....please give us Waters.

If Jeff Garcia was on this roster, TO would not be.

I don't think this is Edwards concern at all.
In fact, I think mentioning him as a variable in the efficacy of the signing is ridiculous.

The pressure is on Schonert and Jauron, at least until the November time frame.

Edwards seems to be a guy who does what he is told with relative efficiency compared to the erratic QB's we have had over the past five years.

I think it is on the HC and the OC, and the offensive line's ability to protect him.
