The Ravens are determined to get their worth out of punter Dave Zastudil.
Zastudil is in the beginning phase of an experiment that might make him the team's kickoff specialist. Last year, Zastudil, a controversial fourth-round pick from Ohio University, was the emergency quarterback for three games when Chris Redman was inactive because of a back injury.

Now the Ravens are hoping Zastudil's strong leg can pin teams in the end zone and create more touchbacks while also saving Matt Stover exclusively for field goals.

"I'm in the very early stages right now," Zastudil said. "I'm working with Matt Stover on approaching the ball and the right placement of your foot. I'm really raw at it. But from this camp until two-a-days, I want to keep progressing at it a little more. If I'm in the competition to do kickoffs, then great.

"It's just like at quarterback, when they did not have to sign a quarterback. It's important to me. If I can do it, then it's going to help the team."
