At his age he has probably lost some speed but still has more than the average guard. He might be interested in facing a new challenge in his career to revive it and I dont see him getting a huge contract anywhere to play LT anyways.

A G probably shouldn't make the salary he would demand.

Why not Pace for Right Tackle and Walker move to guard. He has played there before right?

There's already one NFL guard with the nickname "Pork Chop". We don't need two.

Sorry, I just couldn't resist...

sure would be nice in theory, but the fact remains that Pace isn't going to want to play for peanuts and we are not going to sign him to a contract he will get somewhere else...

Good points.

And really how much does he have left? He is constantly injured. He was a stallwart probowler for many years but is the end here?

Well if we offer him starting LG money for 2 years it could be the highest contract he gets on the market. Something like 2 yrs, 9 million could do it.

is it really as simple as just moving a dude thats played his entire career at LT from that position to LG?

Its not a difficult transition by any means... rookies coming out of college make that transition all the time whether it be from G to T or T to G.

Good call. Seems unlikely but as has been said many times in many threads we need a LG bad. Drafting OL depth in the late rounds wouldn't hurt either.
