1. Detroit Lions - Jason Smith - OT -Baylor - The Lions cant afford to miss on this pick and with so many needs Munroe is probably the closest thing to a definite upgrade in his first season. Schwartz knows the value of good OL and DL play and will look to the Dolphins draft strategy from last year as a model to turn things around in Detroit. Jason Smith has emerged as the top OT prospect in the draft demonstrating elite level athleticism, strength and a strong work ethic. Smith seems to have the highest ceiling of the OT class.

2. St-Louis Rams - Eugene Munroe - OT - Virginia - The Rams are disappointed Jason Smith was taken first but are not uncomfortable in the least with taking Munroe to man their newly vacated LT spot. Munroe combines excellent pass blocking and power at the point of attack as well as plenty of starting experience at the LT position. He may be the most polished of the OT group.

3. Kansas City Chiefs - Aaron Curry - OLB - Wake Forest - Aaron Curry is a physical specimen that does everything well. With the Chiefs moving to a 3-4, Curry can slide in to the rush OLB spot with Derrick Johnson at the other OLB spot and wreak havoc on opposing QBs. That is exactly what the Chiefs didn't have last year.

4. Seattle Seahawks - BJ Raji - DT - Boston College - This may seem high for Raji but he impressed in a big way at the senior bowl and will also stick out on game film. The Hawks struggled in the middle of their defense this year and with Rocky Bernard moving on in FA, Raji should come in and solidify their defense that is already strong in the back 7.

5. Cleveland Browns - Malcolm Jenkins - CB - Ohio State - Jenkins is one of the best overall prospects in the entire draft in terms of value. He can run, tackle like a LB and has great size. Almost a Charles Woodson clone. Cleveland hasn't had a dominant CB in... well.... ever. Sure he didn't have a great combine but the tape proves Jenkins is a dominant cover man.

6. Cincinnati Bengals - Andre Smith- OT - Alabama - Smith has had a tough few weeks with the critics after sub par performances at the combine and most recently at the Crimson Tide Pro Day. Smith However is still what he was during his time with Alabama - a great football player. Smith is aggressive and attacks opponents in the run game and doesn't let up. He may not be the best pass protector of the group but he is no slouch and rarely gets beat. The Bengals were hoping for Jason Smith but will gladly take Smith to protect Palmer's blindside or maybe even slide him over to the right side for now due to the loss of Stacey Andrews in Free Agency. Either way Smith will add some physicality to a soft Bengals Offenseive Line.

7. Oakland Raiders - Michael Crabtree - WR- Texas Tech - No surprise here and for good reason. Crabtree is a top 3 prospect and due to the incredible talent at the premier OT position he falls to the Raiders who get their man. Crabtree will provide that receiving threat Jamarcus Russell has been missing and gives the Raiders a big 3 with Darren McFadden providing the ground work.

8. Jacksonville Jaguars - Vontae Davis - CB - Illinois - A bit of a surprise but when you think about it, not really. The Jags signed CB Drayton Florence in FA last year and it didn't work out for them. They now have a major hole at the RCB spot and Vontae Davis has placed himself on par with Jenkins with a superior combine workout.

9. Green Bay Packers - Brian Orakpo - DE/OLB - Texas - With the Packers moving to a 3-4 they will need to add a rush OLB. With Aaron Kampan most likely manning the strong side OLB spot, Orakpo would move into the rush OLB position and become the Lambeau version of DeMarcus Ware. Ware can also play with his hand in the ground which will give the Packers the versatility to morph between a 3-4 and the 4-3 easily.

10. San Francisco 49ers - Mark Sanchez - QB - USC - San Fran hasn't had a franchise QB since Young retired and Sanchez is exactly that. He may be a bit raw since he only started one year at USC but he has all the tools needed to succeed at the next level. Staying in California should also play to his advantage.

11. Buffalo Bills - Brian Cushing - OLB - USC - Not the pick most Bills fans are expecting but Cushing is a pure football player with plenty of versatility. The Bills would have plenty of options by selecting Cushing. One would be to use him as their MLB and push Poz to the outside where he played in college, two would be to keep him at OLB where he has excelled in college and third would be as a pass rusher from the LB position. In my opinion Cushing would provide the Bills the most value at the MLB spot since he is bigger, faster, stronger and more athletic than Posluszny. Cushing can provide for the Bills what Urlacher provides for the Bears.

12. Denver Broncos - Everette Brown - DE/OLB - Florida State - Denver is yet another team converting to a 3-4 alignment and they will also need a playmaker at the OLB spot. Brown is a pure pass rusher that should be able to learn to stand up as a LB and should have no problem playing out of a 3 point stance as a DE. That versatility will be welcome in Denver's new defense.

13. Washington Redskins - Michael Oher - OT - Ole Miss - The strength of the Redskins in the past was their offensive line with 2 Pro Bowl standouts Chris Samuels and Jon Jansen. Those days are gone now and Jason Campbell was the 4th most sacked QB in the NFL. Samuels should be fine to return to action at LT after being injured for most of 08 but Oher can come in and provide the Skins with bookend OTs again. Oher is a solid all-around OT that excels as both a run blocker and pass protector. If there wasn't so much talent in the OT class Oher could have gone #1 overall.

14. New Orleans Saints - Peria Jerry - DT- Mississippi - Peria Jerry has been steadily climbing up draft boards after a solid performance at Senior Bowl week. Jerry is quick off the snap and has great burst. He is strong but can also make plays down the line of scrimmage. The Saints can team him up with Sedrick Ellis and finally make the middle of their DL their strength instead of their weakness. Jerry will help the Saints stuff the run and also rush the passer which is his specialty.

Houston Texans – Chris Wells - RB - Ohio State- Houston already has a solid RB in Steve Slaton but with more and more teams relying on 2 RBs for their rushing game the Texans can't resist the opportunity to have their own version of Smash and Dash. Wells combines speed, power and great cutting ability which makes him a nightmare to bring down. This Texan version of Smash and Dash could end up being the best in the league.

16. San Diego Chargers - Rey Maualuga – ILB – USC – Junior Seau anyone? Although the Bolts boast 2 of the best OLBs in the league in Merriman and Philips there have been no MLB to come through San Diego lately to make them forget about Seau. Maualuga has virtually all the same skill sets Seau did, power, athleticism, instincts and overall football IQ. Another Samoan Trojan could do wonders for the Chargers defense.

17. New York Jets – Matt Stafford – QB – Georgia – Finally Stafford goes off the board after slipping big time. This wouldn’t be the first time a QB has slipped though when it was believed he would certainly go in the top 5. The way I see it, Stafford became the #1 projected QB by default after Sam Bradford elected to remain at Oklahoma. Sure Stafford is a solid prospect but in my opinion teams in the top ten will choose to select the sure fire players they need to improve their OL and DL and SF will see Sanchez as having more upside. At the end of the day Stafford goes to a team where he will start from day 1 as Matt Ryan did with all the pieces already in place for him to succeed.

18. Chicago Bears – Michael Johnson – DE – Georgia Tech – Michael Johnson has possibly the highest ceiling in the draft. His natural talent alone is almost enough to make him a top 5 DE in the NFL, but to realize that dream he will have to do what critics say he doesn't, work for it. If he does that, there's no limits to what Michael Johnson can become at the next level.

19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Josh Freeman – QB – Kansas State– There's a new regime in Tampa and the first order of business should be to inject some youth into the QB position. Freeman is a very similar prospect to Joe Flacco from last year's draft and with a solid Pro Day he shouldn't be surprised to find his name called in the first round. Now that the Bucs have talent on offense with Bryant at WR and Winslow at TE along with 2 solid RBs and a good Offensive line everything is in place for a young, strong armed gun-slinger to come in and start from day one.

Detroit Lions – Evander Hood – DT – Missouri – Evander Hood may be considered a reach by some at #20 in the first round but the Lions will be adamant about improving the middle of their defense that suffered since losing Shaun Rogers. Jim Shwartz will want to ensure his defense is competitive and the first piece has to be a big DT that can stuff the run but also reach the QB. Evander Hood is exactly that and has the potential to be a player in the mold of Marcus Stroud.

21. Philadelphia Eagles – Willam Beatty – OT – Connecticut – Beatty is as solid as it comes when it comes to pass protecting thanks to his elite athleticism. Beatty moves very well and is very intelligent. He may not be a mauler but once he fills out his 6'6 307 pound frame he will become a more imposing player. Beatty should start day one for the departed William 'Tra' Thomas.

Minnesota Vikings – Jeremy Maclin – WR– Missouri – After trying to secure the services of TJ Housh-a-mazood and losing out to Seattle the Vikings look to the draft for a weapon to add to their WR corp. To their amazement they get one of the most electrifying players in the draft and certainly one of the top play makers. Maclin brings speed, size, hands and great KR/PR abilities to the table which will give the Vikings yet another exciting player to add to their offense.

23. New England Patriots – Tyson Jackson – DE– LSU– Jackson is one of the top DL in the draft and only falls this far because he is not a traditional pass rusher. At 6'5 295 however Jackson is the prototype 5 technique DE or 2 gap DE in a 3-4. Jackson has the skills to become a young Richard Seymour in Bellichick's defensive scheme. Plus the Patriots have always been successful drafting linemen early in the draft.

24. Atlanta Falcons - Brandon Pettigrew – TE – Oklahoma State – Pettigrew is one of the most well rounded players at his position in the draft. He is a devastating run blocker, has good but not great speed and catches the ball well. He also gives the QB a very big target to throw to at 6’6 260. The Falcons currently don’t have a threat at the TE position and the dual threat Pettigrew provides should fit nicely with what the Falcons like to do on offense.

25. Miami Dolphins – Larry English – DE/OLB – Northern Illinois – Larry English made a case for himself at Senior Bowl week and he looks to have secured himself a spot in the first round. The Dolphins need a pass rusher opposite Joey Porter and that's exactly what English will provide.

26. Baltimore Ravens – Darius Butler – CB – Connecticut – Butler is one of the top cover guys in the draft which you have to be to play in the Baltimore defense. He has all the tools to be a top CB in the league and the Ravens are returning aging corners Chris McAllister and Samari Rolle. McCallister is also coming off season ending injury so adding a CB like Butler will give them a shut down corner and youth in the secondary.

27. Indianapolis Colts – Darrius Heyward-Bey – WR – Maryland – The Colts let Marvin Harrison go in the off-season and will have to replace him for their offense to return to form. Heyward Bey gives Manning a big, fast target with great hands and the ability to stretch the field. He also has great size at 6'2 210 but hasn't begun to use that to his advantage so far in his football career. He should learn to maximize his talent in the Colts offense.

28. Philadelphia Eagles – Knowshowne Moreno – RB – Georgia – A steal here for the Eagles as they get arguably the top RB in the draft at the end of round 1. Moreno possesses all the tools to be an all-around back in the Eagles offense and should allow the Eagles to run the ball more often between him and Westbrook. The Eagles offense struggles when Westbrook goes down so Moreno also provides a solid insurance policy.

29. New York Giants – Clay Mathews – OLB – USC – A receiver is an option here but Clay Mathews stock has been rising and he provides too much value at #29 for the Giants to pass up. Plus, the Giants currently start Danny Clark and Chase Blackburn at the OLB spots so Mathews would also provide a huge upgrade.

30. Tennessee Titans – Duke Robinson - OG – Oklahoma – Duke is probably the most powerful offensive lineman in the draft aside from Andre Smith. In the run game he creates massive holes and although critics said he struggled in pass protection against Florida in the Championship game that is not a commonality in his game. Tennessee improves their strength even more by adding Duke and will establish the ground game even more.

31. Arizona Cardinals - Fili Moala – DE/DT – USC – A big part of the USC defense Moala can collapse the pocket in the run game and can rush the passer from the interior. In Arizona’s defense Moala would be a DE playing the 5-technique which should play right into his skill set. This is a steal for the Cardinals who need another presence on their DL that can stuff the run.

32. Pittsburgh Steelers – Max Unger – OG/OC – Oregon – Unger is a smart and versatile offensive lineman that can play center, guard and even OT if you ask him to. The Steelers have 4 linemen going into free agency this year and if they did have a weakness this year it was up front. Unger will allow them to fill the spot they need most on the OL.

27. Indianapolis Colts – Darrius Heyward-Bey – WR – Maryland – The Colts let Marvin Harrison go in the off-season and will have to replace him for their offense to return to form. Heyward Bey gives Manning a big, fast target with great hands and the ability to stretch the field. He also has great size at 6'2 210 but hasn't begun to use that to his advantage so far in his football career. He should learn to maximize his talent in the Colts offense.

28. Philadelphia Eagles – Knowshowne Moreno – RB – Georgia – A steal here for the Eagles as they get arguably the top RB in the draft at the end of round 1. Moreno possesses all the tools to be an all-around back in the Eagles offense and should allow the Eagles to run the ball more often between him and Westbrook. The Eagles offense struggles when Westbrook goes down so Moreno also provides a solid insurance policy.

29. New York Giants – Clay Mathews – OLB – USC – A receiver is an option here but Clay Mathews stock has been rising and he provides too much value at #29 for the Giants to pass up. Plus, the Giants currently start Danny Clark and Chase Blackburn at the OLB spots so Mathews would also provide a huge upgrade.

30. Tennessee Titans – Duke Robinson - OG – Oklahoma – Duke is probably the most powerful offensive lineman in the draft aside from Andre Smith. In the run game he creates massive holes and although critics said he struggled in pass protection against Florida in the Championship game that is not a commonality in his game. Tennessee improves their strength even more by adding Duke and will establish the ground game even more.

31. Arizona Cardinals - Fili Moala – DE/DT – USC – A big part of the USC defense Moala can collapse the pocket in the run game and can rush the passer from the interior. In Arizona’s defense Moala would be a DE playing the 5-technique which should play right into his skill set. This is a steal for the Cardinals who need another presence on their DL that can stuff the run.

32. Pittsburgh Steelers – Max Unger – OG/OC – Oregon – Unger is a smart and versatile offensive lineman that can play center, guard and even OT if you ask him to. The Steelers have 4 linemen going into free agency this year and if they did have a weakness this year it was up front. Unger will allow them to fill the spot they need most on the OL.
