Robert Ayers will be the pick if he's on the board at 11. I love this pick.

He will be on the board at #11, but I don't think he'll be the pick. I like him as a second rounder.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.

Ayers is the most NFL ready 4-3 DE in this draft. I don't see any way he doesn't go in the first 20 picks in the draft.

Mike Lombardi of NFL Network had Robert Ayers going to San Francisco at #10 in his mock draft! Lombardi worked for Al Davis for 8 years and has experience in NFL front office(s). In other words, he may NOT be there when we pick!
          Lombardi's top 10....
          1.) Detroit- Matthew Stafford, QB
2.) Saint Louis- Eugene Monroe, OLT
3.) Kansas City- Aaron Curry, OLB
          4.) Seattle- B.J. Raji. DT
          5.) Cleveland- Brain Orapko, DE
          6.) Cincinnati- Jason Smith, OLT
          7.) Oakland- Andre Smith, OLT/ORT
          8.) Jacksonville- Mark Sanchez, QB
9.) Green Bay- Aaron Maybin, OLB
10.) San Francisco- Robert Ayers, DE
The MOST obvious ommision is Michael Crabtree in his top 10. Anyone for Crabtree @11 if available? I'd jump all over that pick and have it up to the table in 9 nanoseconds!

I think you'd have to pick Crabtree in that position (though I doubt he lasts that long). Another option would be to trade out of that spot. If he's still there, I'd be willing that there would be a lot of teams willing to trade up to get him.

                Lions aren't drafting a QB #1 overall.

WHY would you take Crabtree. We are set at WR.

There is no way the Lions risk the #1 pick on a QB with no stud at that position coming out. They go with a safe pick and go Oline. Id bet anything on it.

I had them taking Curry this whole time...but the more I think about them having a whole new regime, new uniforms, etc...that they go with the new face of the franchise

if we want ayers, we can drop back in the 20's and get him. we would be better off trading down with a team that wants a tackles because by the 15th pick all of the top elite tackles will be gone.

youre overthinking my friend. I understand your point, but you dont jeopardize thee most crucial pick in the draft at the point of making a marketing move. The GM of the lions was espn a couple of weeks ago and he really gave the vibe like he wasnt that interested in Stafford. Espn and Kiper are the ones pushing this Stafford #1 pick so hard. This is such a tough draft with no clear cut studs. You HAVE to get the number one pick right, and I just see them going the safe route. Dont forget, the Lions have two first rounders.
