Could Todd Heap become and his 3.6 million salary become expendable?

BTW, relax people.. Wow man.

The guys that have visited the Bills have visited nobody else.. its not like a string of guys we wanted with our jumping onto other teams.

The Bills are figuring some stuff out.. Does it matter if its done today or April 24th?

I'd rather them make a sound decision than to just rush and sign a guy or two to appease impatient fans.

they are evaluating the OLB and OG spots. I have little doubt they have at least talked about a Tony Scheffler deal. maybe Heap comes into the picture now.

Jay cutler was NEVER coming here, it was an absurd rumor started by someone who should know a lot better (Ruben Brown)

Still a ton of time.. You start seeing guys like June, Crowell, Keiaho and Goff signing elsewhere; then be worried.

Unless I'm mistaken, I don't think Ruben Brown ever said anything about Jay Cutler.

I think he just mentioned the agent, Bus Cook, was in town.

That is correct, Ruben mentioned only the agent because the agent was attempting to sell a tight end, not sure who that was though.

I think Ruben then went out on a limb and said Cook's visit was Cutler-related. Information he got from Eric Moulds.

He specifically said it was regarding a trade for a new quarterback.

Pat you make it sound as though our crack FO and coaching staff are known for stellar decision making and Polian-like talent evaluation.

I dont nor do I believe the Ravens look at LJ Smith as a replacement for T.Heap. There just adding depth to there roster

it was just reported during a nfl total access show that LJ smith is depth behind heap. they are keeping both apparently if they get smith to sign.

Word around here is that if they move Heap, it'll likely be as some part of package (probably including a RB - McGahee perhaps) to Arizona for Boldin...just what I've hear from fans and local talk radio.

We need another white TE like we need another white DE. Just saying...

I think the faster we get moves down the better to get these guys in here now and start learning the system they signed on to as well as chemistry is very important considering OLINe and Dline

I think the Bills are taking there time to get the best bargain, at there places of need, it has nothing to do with winning or superbowl it has to do with who can we sign cheap for a stop gap to get by

I like Todd Heap, who is one of the better all-around TE in the NFL.

However, it is doubtful Smith is a replacement for him. Smith is only signing for 1 year, and isn't much of a blocker. He is talented, but is coming off a down year. They are taking a flier on the guy based on potential, not replacing one of their better offensive players.

Heap really dosen't get me excited. He scored in only 2 of 16 games last year. I dont know how much that has to do with the Rookie QB, But stats like 1 catch for 5 yards and a fumble like he had against the bungles last year are Royal-like.
