    Eagles sign punter Kyle Richardson

    PHILADELPHIA (AP)—
The Philadelphia Eagles signed record-setting punter Kyle Richardson on Monday to a one-year contract.
Financial terms of Richardson's deal were not disclosed.

Richardson landed an NFL-record 39 punts inside opponents' 20-yard line in the 2000 season when he played for the Baltimore Ravens.

He was with the Ravens for four seasons before joining the Minnesota Vikings last year. Richardson also punted for Miami and Seattle in 1997.

"We're happy to add a veteran punter with big-game experience," Eagles coach Andy Reid said. "Kyle will come in and compete with two young guys for that position."

The Eagles previously signed punter Dirk Johnson, who played in one game for New Orleans last season, and rookie free agent Derrick Frost.
