    Stallworth DRUNK During Accident

MIAMI (AP) - Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte' Stallworth was driving drunk when he struck and killed a pedestrian, according to media reports on Thursday.

WSVN-TV reported that unnamed sources with knowledge of the investigation said Stallworth's blood-alcohol level was between .08 and .16. The legal limit is .08. The Miami Herald also cited an unnamed source as saying that Stallworth's blood-alcohol level was above the legal limit.

The Miami Beach Police Department refused to confirm the reports. Ed Griffith, spokesman for Miami-Dade County prosecutor Katherine Fernandez Rundle, would say only that the investigation is focusing on whether alcohol was a factor in the death of 59-year-old Mario Reyes.

from what i read, vehicular manslaughter when under the influence is generally a felony and leads to jail time. we'll see what happens, but doesnt look good for him.

Why was he drunk 7 o'clock in the morning? Seems kind of early to be drinking.

Wow if this is true Stallworth is done in the NFL and will be in jail for a while. DUI, Vehicular Homicide, Reckless Endangerment. In Florida they don't mess around with stuff like this.

he could be charged with DUI manslaughter which carries a maximum 15-year prison sentence.

          He'll do 5 to 7.

          His football career is over.

Not early to be drinking. Late to be drinking from the night before.

They should tack on robbery for all that money he stole from Cleveland last year.

Did whether or not the victim was crossing legally or if Stallworth was violating any moving violations ever come out? I don't remember hearing anything. Not that any of this is okay, but if he was not violating traffic laws and the victim was jaywalking, for example, he may be found guilty of nothing more than driving over the limit. In that case he most likely won't see jail time unless, of course, he's a multiple offender. However, if the victim crossed legally at a crosswalk Stallworth is completely screwed and he'll serve well-deserved time.

Obviously. I meant "in addition to." Sorry for not making that perfectly clear.
