Nothing like tanking with the new contract. But what the hell, at least he isn't hurt.

well it's only been a handful of games and the rest of these jokers haven't given him much help.

But so far, he looks like everyone else on this team: motivated to do just barely enough to keep that paycheck and roster spot.

He is worth every penny. The best player on this team. Look around the league, what do other teams pay top players?

I have no problem with the talent level of Tim Connolly. He is just the wrong guy for the wrong job. If you think he is a #1 center to build around you are in denial. He is a complimentary player.

They should have traded him and maximized the return when they had the chance.

That being said, I hope I am wrong.

as soon as he signs his extension he pulls a Pominfail and hasn't been seen or heard of on the ice. He might be one of our top players but that is like being the tallest dwarf.

Still think? I never thought this guy should have been resigned for anything less then a decrease in his pay and he is proving me right. Another mistake by this organization...the hits (or should I say misses) keep coming!

Sure we gave a raise to someone who played 79 games in 3 years for us, we over paid for him then, and let some valuable players to our lineup walk for less money aka JP Dumont, then we proceed to over value him again and give him more money and he is the same inconsistent wimpy forward who is afraid to go into the corners for the puck, skates with his head down, plays with no passion or tuffness, doesnt stick up for his teamates and wows you every 10 games with a highlight goal key word being INCONSISTENT just like the rest of the roster Streaky passionless wimpy and oft injured

How many top players, aside from Ovechkin, actually play the body? Connolly was the only player to go after Gomez. He is the best play maker on this team. Without him, the team is noticeably worse. A player of his caliber would be pulling 5+ million on other rosters. The only problem is that he has been injury prone. I feel hes worth the risk because I cant name 3 players better than him on this team.

Yeah, but how many top players are as inconsistent as this guy? There are zero players on this team that I would consider top players.

No, actually this is a running joke with LW because he is constantly using the +/- with a number behind it and we are suppose to guess plus or minus...

+/- = When an even-strength or shorthanded goal is scored, every player on the ice for the team scoring the goal is credited with a "plus." Every player on the ice for the team scored against gets a "minus." A player's overall total is calculated by subtracting the minuses from the pluses. A high plus total is taken to mean that a guy is a good defensive player

that's step 1, LW. Time for step 2.

When you report a player's +/-, you have to say* if it's + (the good one), or - (the bad one).

If you say +5, we know it's good, if you say -5, we know it's bad. If you say +/-5, then we don't know if it's good or bad.

*=At first I put "specify" instead of "stay", but I was afraid LW would not understand a 3 syllable word.

I was gonna fix it after I saw your post, but then it occurred to me that it's funnier to let him think that "specify" and "stay" are synonyms.
