(May 13, 2003) -- The 2003 NFL Draft took place less than three weeks ago, and we tried to tell you everything we knew about the draftees in the months leading up to it. We're now going to start giving you information on players who we consider top picks for the next two drafts (2004 and 2005).

To obtain this information, we attended the 2003 Playboy Preseason All-America Team photo shoot. Every year, Playboy puts together its own team of college student-athletes, and to be named to the team is quite a high distinction.

To put the gathering in perspective, consider this: Last year, the highest player we had selected in the draft on this team was Charles Rogers, who was drafted No. 2 overall by the Detroit Lions. In the 2001 NFL Draft, four of the first five top picks made the team (we had Joey Harrington as our quarterback, not David Carr).

In 2000, six of the first seven players drafted and 14 first-rounders total were part of the team. This year's group appears to be every bit as good as the past three.

Of course, there was fun to be had. The festivities surrounding the photo shoot included an "Olympic Festival," which featured games of skills involving football (Eli Manning of Mississippi threw a ball through a target 23 of 25 times, breaking the previous mark held by Drew Brees), basketball, baseball and golf (Will Smith of Ohio State was the putting star).

The players also took part in water sports and attended a rodeo. The photo shoot itself was the highlight of the weekend, with players posing in full uniforms.
