RIP Lou Saban

He got Buffalo its first and only championships.

Lou coached with a passion.

He was Marv before Marv was Marv.

He and Marv are by far the best coaches that the Bills have ever had.

Thanks for everything Coach!

Whitey finally killed him.
"They're KILLING me, Whitey, they're KILLING me!!". That was/is a classic. I too became a Bills fan lo those many years ago when Lou was leading our heros to AFL championships at the ol' Rockpile. Those were the days, my friend....

Lou was one of a kind and will be missed. He lived football 24/7.

And yet another icon of my youth makes the final journey.

A really odd note: Lou coached at tiny SUNY Canton, pretty much a junior college, and one that is terrible...I never really understood this, but apparently he coached at several small schools and even HS after leaving Miami. He must have just really wanted to make a difference in football communities all over, and he certainly did. RIP Lou

Honestly, Lou was the only true head coach Buffalo ever had. He had grit, guts, he was tough, demanding, and he stood up to the old man. True football man, almost a Lombardi type. He's everything Buffalo now lacks in the front office.

You are correct.
Saban was Lombardi light.

Don't think it would work now, though.

I wonder if this is how they messed up RW dying?

Anyway...a classic coach...and Gameboy is right - he style would have worked for about one game.
