    Falcons re-sign Sam Rogers

    FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP)—
Linebacker Sam Rogers re-signed with the Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday.

Rogers, who will turn 33 on May 30, became one of the Falcons' most surprising players after joining the team last August, stepping right into the 3-4 scheme installed by defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.

Rogers, who played for Phillips in Buffalo, started 13 games and had 71 tackles, a career-high 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
