MESA, Ariz. (AP) -- Former Arizona Cardinals defensive back Pat Tillman and his brother, both Army Rangers now the Middle East, are doing fine, their father says.
Patrick Tillman said he doesn't know where his sons are or what they are doing, but he and the Tillmans' mother received calls from Pat and Kevin Tillman late last week saying they are OK.
"It was great, a big relief," Patrick Tillman told the East Valley Tribune.
He said he hadn't heard from Pat and Kevin since February, a month before they were deployed to the Middle East.
Patrick said Kevin was limited to 10 minutes on the phone and given specific instructions as to what he could tell his father.
"They have a script they [his sons] have to read to us," Patrick said. "I said, 'What can I ask you?' He said, 'Basically nothing.'"
Pat Tillman turned down a three-year, $3.6 million contract with the Cardinals to join the Army last year.
