He has signed a one-year, $1.5 million contract with a $500,000 signing bonus. The deal can be worth as much as $2 million, with incentives.
June started his career in Indianpolis before joining the Bucs in 2007.

I'm wondering what in the world is going on. THey can't possibly think Ellison is really good enough to start again.

That just really pisses me off! How could we have dropped the ball so badly with Angelo Crowell and Cato June? Both players signed 1-year deals for only $2 million. We have the cap room for either of them and both of them would have been better than what we have now. Either they are really sold on Keith Ellison starting again....or we are definitely drafting a LB in the 1st round. Either way, this pisses me off!

I still believe they are leaving their options open for the draft. There still seems to me, to be an awful lot of 'uncertainty' as to which way a few of the top slots will go. There are also still quite a few guys about who would be an upgrade over Ellison, who likely will also still be available after the draft, if need be. e.g. Keiaho, or even Brooks.
I also suspect, that they are more interested in LBs who are good against the run - i.e. with a bit more muscle and bulk, than someone like June.
I would certainly concede that for the money, June would represent an improvement over Ellison immediately, but I believe that they think they will be able to do a bit better along the way.
