Uhhhhhh.....negotiating with Jackson! You do know it does take time to negotiate a contract extension right?

i'm not worried about this one...they'll sign himEven if they dont he's a RFA next season and he'll get the highest tender next season.....it's a win/win for the Bills regardless!

it'll be discussed after they deal with Peters and the draft.

at least I hope so, Jackson deserves to be treated better. he should at least get a decent multi-uear offer that gives him a nice boost in pay. The Bills should include incentives for Jackson to help him get paid if he has to start more often / play more downs if Lynch can't play

Guys, he signed. He has no choice. That's not the issue.

This is the Peters mess all over again. We cheap the crap out of people to the point that they don't want to play here anymore.

We'll see if he acts like Peters but I doubt it.

If you pay for the wrong players and than are forced to cheap out on the players that are actually worth something it's the same thing.

Peters is a byproduct of the Dockery signing.

Like who exactly did we cheap out?

Peters is in the position he is in because he was dumb enough to sign a 5 year extension, locking him up for 5 years in Buffalo.

As for Jackson, he cant hold out, he has no money to hold out. SO he is using the Lynch pending suspension to try and get a deal.

Or maybe he is just working out with a personal trainer, who knows.

Ddaryl, don't confuse the haters. They are on a roll. According to them the Bills are supposed to make every player on their roster the highest paid in the league. Never negotiate. Just empty the salry cap on every player so they don't ever feel underpaid. After all that's how wining football teams get it done.

It's only the same in that either way we're not managing talent well. Otherwise, it's not the same thing at all. If I go to Burger King with $10 to spend and blow $9 on three large diet cokes, I only have $1 left to spend on food. Thus, I did a bad job of spending in a manner that would satisfy my appetite. But I did spend the $10, so you can't call me cheap.

If I go to Burger King with $10 to spend and buy one diet coke for $3, and then put the $7 remaining in my pocket and leave hungry, then I'm cheap.

Just making a point: they're not the same thing. One can argue about whether the Bills are cheap, and one can argue about whether the Bills spend their money poorly. But those need to be two different debates.

Peters is a byproduct of the Dockery signing.

Peters is a byproduct of overvaluing himself and ignoring his own performance last season.

We need to offer him more than 8.5M, but he's got to make some concessions too to prove that he understands this is a negotation and not a ransom.

Granted the Bills are in the driver's seat in regards to Jackson, some good faith from them would go further with him and the rest of the Bills players who could be in his boat in the short term future.

Also it lets all players in the NFL know that if you come to Buffalo and out-perform your contract, you won't be dicked around with. Currently, we dicking around.

Even if they dont he's a RFA next season and he'll get the highest tender next season.....it's a win/win for the Bills regardless!

WRONG.

AS an udrafted free agent signing, even tenderinghim at the highest RFA tender means we would get nothing in return if anyone signed him to an offer sheet.

Peters is a byproduct of the Dockery signing.

Peters is a byproduct of inbreeding if he thinks he is the best LT in the league.

WRONG.

AS an udrafted free agent signing, even tenderinghim at the highest RFA tender means we would get nothing in return if anyone signed him to an offer sheet. No sir you are wrong. If we were to put the lowest tender on Jackson then we would receive nothing in return for him if he was signed away by another team. If we were to put the highest tender on him we would receive a 1st and 3rd rd pick regardless if he was drafted or not.

March 1, the Dolphins offered Welker, a restricted free agent, a second-round tender (the second-lowest tender) of $1.35 million for a one-year contract.

You do know that Welker was an undrafted rookie FA right?

This article is in regards to Ben Utecht, another undrafted rookie FA.....

The way I see it, his Colts career ended when the team decided to use the lowest level for a restricted free agent ($927,000) on Utecht. The lowest level gives a team the right to match any offer or receive equal draft-pick compensation. Since Utecht was not drafted, there will be no compensation. If the Colts had used the second level of $1.47 million, the compensation for them not matching an offer from another team would have been a second-round draft pick. If the Colts were serious about retaining Utecht they undoubtedly would have upped their bid by about $500,000. Since they didn't do that, I can't imagine them matching a three-year offer from the Bengals that apparently is worth about $3 million per year.

When you try and prove someone wrong.....do some research first!
