    Sabres sign Travis Turnbull

    Buffalo Sabres GM Darcy Regier announced today the Sabres have signed free agent forward Travis Turnbull to a two-year entry level contract. Turnbull, the son of former NHL’er Perry Turnbull, recently completed his senior season at the University of Michigan.

    Turnbull will finish this season with the Portland Pirates on an AHL ATO, and his NHL contract will begin next season.

    Perry Turnbull had a couple of 30 goal seasons, in St. Louis, before he fizzled.

        Not likely unless they are eliminated tonight and they give him a cup of tea. Very aggressive in your face type. Can't tell if he is a fighter, if he is it is more along the Mair lines. They are similar size and style. Has some offensive upside.

        Good signing. Hopefully it is a sign they intend to move toward a group of grittier prospects.
