Dude's good, didn't watch the videos, but I know he's good. Unless we're moving Poz outside I don't see him in the red white and blue though.

3-4 ILB is his best position not 4-3 MLB, he is not good in traffic. Pass.

Doesn't translate into the pros. He's not as good as he looks. Bad combine, weight problems.

I certainly do. I don't see what the big deal is about him. He can make a few highlights, but what does he do in coverage? Can he shed blocks? Is he a great blitzer? Does really seem like it. He doesn't fit our needs at LB at all, imo.

                    Re: Rey Maualuga

he doesn't shed blocks well, he overpursues and he's a poor tackler (he's a good hitter though).

he doesn't play fast either... which means he doesn't read plays well.

will he be a good NFL linebacker? maybe, in the right situation he could be damned good, especially if he works hard. But is he as good or polished as Poz was coming out of college? Not close.

if he's drafted in round 1 it will be because people are drafting on potential not on polish

let me put it another way... Johnathan Vilma was a far better college linebacker in then Rey Maualuga... yet the jets taking him in round 1 was a wasted pick... which i even said as much when they did it (its in these forums somewhere)...

Vilma simply wasn't particularly fast, nor did he shed blockers well. He did everything else well though.

If i had to take Vilma out of college, or Maualuga, and i had to take them in round one... I'd take Vilma even knowing he never lived up to round 1 status, because, frankly, he was a better prospect then Maualuga.

Maualuga has been my second fav player in the draft for awhile, behind Orakpo... He would have been a reach at 11 obviously though... So if we get him at 28
