Re: Great new Peters read by Timmy Graham
Bascially, a source has told him the Bills are not close to trading Peters.
"The drama apparently will drag on awhile. Amid speculation they will unload Peters before the NFL draft to avoid another prolonged holdout, the Bills sound about as far away from trading the two-time Pro Bowler as they are from reaching accord with him."Last edited by patmoran2006; 04-10-2009, 11:24 AM.

Re: Great new Peters read by Timmy Graham
My current opinion: Find a way to work it out. You do that, and you can use the draft to fill holes, not at best even out one you create by trading arguably your most valuable player.
Get a good pass rusher in round one, come back with a solid guard in round two- maybe a tight end or safety (SS) in round three, and you're talking big improvement.

Re: Great new Peters read by Timmy Graham
The Bills should be more public about their offers to Peters. If they offered him $9 million/yr, that's not "lowballing" and they can get PR points that can really help
However, that being said.........I would find a partner to do a deal and say "addition by subtraction"

Re: Great new Peters read by Timmy Graham
I'm really torn on Peters. I know he's a good player, we don't need anymore holes, and we have better uses for our number 11 pick than an unproven replacement LT, but I hate the distraction of a never-ending holdout. And I hate his attitude.
I just want the situation resolved, whether via a fair contract or a trade. I'm just tired of the whole ongoing mess.Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

thats my stance too. My desperation to win and after going 0-6 in the division last season outweighs whats right however.Last edited by justasportsfan; 04-10-2009, 11:39 AM.

Re: Great new Peters read by Timmy Graham
If Dick hired someone who knew his head from his arse offensively from the start, we wouldn't be in this mess to begin with. He's 0-4 in picking OC at this point. I don't know if Turk will get any better and I hope he does but right now, he's no different from all of Dicks OC hiring in the past. Clueless.Last edited by justasportsfan; 04-10-2009, 11:57 AM.

Re: Great new Peters read by Timmy Graham
Originally posted by patmoran2006and per Graham, he has a source that says that is not true and they haven't had discussions.
Not looking to see what the Bills could get for Peters in a trade is as foolish as paying Peters $11 million per year.
