well have you seen his posts on facebook or read anything he writes...man, I thought he "was" on of the smart ones. After seeing his acts on facebook, he seems like he's a little slow

This can't be true. The great Marv only drafted high character guys. Talent was secondary.

I'm simply disappointed to see that some of these guys can't seem to behave themselves when out drinking. Apparently their big egos overcome their better judgment.

04-11-2009, 09:31 AM
well living in a small town does that. The athletes around here are treated like heroes, therefore ego skyrockets when everything people talk about around here is Bills or Sabres. It's too bad, but again he hasn't been charged yet, so that could be a good thinking from the league punishment side of things...

I don't think our offenses are as serious, but Lynch, Simpson, Parrish and now Whitner have had their problems. Not a good trend. . .

Not a huge deal if you ask me ...It always a problem when some one gets arrested but look at the charge...No Guns .. No Drugs not a serious offense We have to wait to see the facts...This type of charge happens to a lot of people who hang on Chippewa every friday and saturday night. Maybe he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time .. Let's wait to get the complete facts before we throw the guy under the bus...

Well... This should be interesting.

I thought a few people were giving Donte the benefit of the doubt for his craptacular play due to his "leadership" and "character".

Now he's just another young NFL idiot who gets in trouble with the law.

I wonder if this might finally be the beginning of the end for donte in Buffalo.

Disappointing. Hopefully he learns from his mistakes.

It's a good thing that Jauron's players like playing for him. That's working out well in the discipline area.

Look at their HC...he doesn't hold them accountable for anything they do at work, why would they think they'd be held accountable away from it?

I know you're too young to remember the likes of Richie Lucas, Al Cowlings and Walt Patulski, but you must be familiar with Eric Flowers and Mike Williams.

Each of them make Whitner look like a star.

funny nobody mentioned he was at Ted Ginn Jr's Birthday party

Whitner is believed to have been at the House of Blues celebrating the birthday of Ted Ginn Jr., a wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins. Whitner and Ginn played together both at Glenville High School, where Ginn's father is the football coach, and at Ohio State.

THE REAL QUESTION:

Why were off duty police officers carrying tasers and handcuffs, and DID THEY IDENTIFY THEMSELVES?

the 23-year-old football player was arrested by off-duty police officers

Police in Cleveland say they were outside the House of Blues attempting to quell a near riot. Whitner allegedly attempted enter an area where numerous fights were occuring. Officers say that he began swinging his arms in a violent manner when police tried to restrain him then broke free and took a fighting stance. Officials say an officer had to deploy his taser so that officers could put Whitner in handcuffs.
Tell me, your at a club and your grabbed by a bunch of guys during a riot. Wouldn't you begin to swing your arms in a violent manner?

 at anyone who makes excuses for someone who is obviously attacking in an illegal manner of some sort just because he wears the colors.

Donte did nothing wrong. He got the taser because he wanted to see how it felt, he asked those police to do it actually.

I love all these "high character" guys we took at the expense of ability...turns out they suck and are morons. Great.

When other teams players get arrested they are thugs. When a Bill gets arrested it is someone elses fault.

lol, everyone is guilty of stuff like that at some point. It's funny during the Church of Marv era when many here practiced the sacred word of Marv, drafting the high character guys. When it's convenient, I guess.

"I'm sorry you that guys have to be here today, but I feel in the future this thing will come to pass and the truth will come out and I will be proven innocent," said Bills Safety Donte Whitner.

An officer ended up using a taser on Whitner and put him in cuffs. Whitner says he may sue.

Contrary to the report, Whitner was tazered not for 'swinging his arms around violently' but instead for saying 'Don't taze me bro, Don't taze me bro!!' That led to his immediate tazing, like it always does.
