2 reasons. 1 he can play RB, 2, he can play FB. Reason this works out is after Lynch comes back, he is still usefull. When Jackson needs a breather put Sapp at RB and Shouman at FB. This would save alot of money on a new FB and RB or wasting a 5th round pick or less on a RB for only 3 games.

Since we are throwing out arbitrary meaningless names that have zero affect on the team doing anything I was just playing along.

Or we could just sign a vet for the minimum and move right along.

Originally posted by seanbillsfanwe have jackson, omon, hall, and i am sure we will invite a few undrafted rbs to camp. Its only 3 games, if it was like half the season or more i would definatly agree that we need to get somebody but its not
The reason I keep saying sapp is he will fill our RB role when Lynch is out but he is also a FB. So instead of getting a FB and RB in FA or draft when the RB will only play 3 games then be cut, why not get Sapp who can play backup RB when Lynch is out and when he comes back he can be the FB for us. 2 for 1 deal.
