Boom or Bust?

Dave Wannstedt stood at the podium and fielded questions about the decisions the team made at the annual draft last weekend and the feeling that was prevalent throughout the room felt more like an inquisition than chit-chat about the new draftees. Just about everyone involved in prognosticating the daft has raised concerns over the choices made by the Dolphins front office. As you look though the many articles and draft grades by most "experts", you will see a consistent opinion that the front office failed miserably with their choices. Fin fan opinions have run the spectrum, from everything to calling for Coach Wannstedt's head to requests for people to stay calm and take the "wait and see" attitude before passing judgment. I for one thought Hunter or Washington was a lock at #49. But neither was to be chosen as the name "Eddie Moore" flashed across the sports tickers of America. The uproar of "Eddie Who" could be heard all the way to Junior Seau's restaurant in San Diego. The snickers and jokes of Jet & Raider fans in the draft auditorium could be heard audibly across the ESPN network as the announcement was made. Only time will tell who will have the last laugh in this draft. These selections may very well go a long way toward ending the tenure of Coach W here. Or, it might just be the kind of draft that propels him and the front office's label as "gem finders".
