Eight athletes, including Buffalo Bills (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=buf) wide receiver Terrell Owens (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=1056), will team with eight celebrities in the latest reincarnation of "The Superstars," ABC television announced Tuesday.

<!--END INLINE MUG-->Owens will team with Joanna Krupa, a model who was one of Maxim magazine's Top 100 women in the world in 2006, when the competition gets underway on June 23 (8 p.m. ET, ABC). The eight teams will compete weekly in events including swimming, biking, running and kayaking. One team will be eliminated each week, leading up to the finals.

if he gets hurt and misses the season, this is going to really drive me crazy. at this point, i really am just excited to see owens come out in a bills uni. if this show deprives me of that simple joy, i am going to lose it.

Assuming that his team makes it past the half-way point of the competition that means his participation in this thing will butt up against training camp in July. Not a big fan of that at all. Unless they pre-tape the episodes or something way in advance. I would just rather have him focused on football. Not to mention, I thought you couldn't leave camp unless you had a family emergency or something? If this show really will be taping during training camp, that would obviously be a problem.
