for the simple reason that a great blocking TE can help the tackles enormously. If the Bills aren't enamored with a DE or a OT at #11 (and I'm not in love with any of them that seem to be falling to us) why not pick Pettigrew at 11, an OT at 28 and a DE in Rd 2 (one will fall to us, always does). Alternatively, if they love Maybin (rumored) or a OT at 11, hopefully they have plans to trade up in RD1 from 28 to put themselves in position to still get Pettigrew.
Does Trading Peters make Pettigrew more likely pick #11?

Re: Does Trading Peters make Pettigrew more likely pick #11?
I posted this in another thread... food for thought
Last year there were 7 T's drafted before pick #28.
If the Bills wait till #28 their prospects get a lot dimmer for immediate impact T.
This is what we could be left with at #28 if there is a run on T.
OT 8 Jamon Meredith SR 6-5/301/- South Carolina Simpsonville, SC OT 9 Xavier Fulton SR 6-5/301/- Illinois Flossmoor, IL OT 10 Fenuki Tupou SR 6-6/325/- Oregon Antelope, CA
We may get lucky and there won't be a big time run on T's and we might have a chance at
OT 6 William Beatty SR 6-6/291/- Connecticut York, PA OT 7 Phil Loadholt SR 6-8/343/- Oklahoma Fountain, CO
Beatty is way to light IMO, and I can't say I know enough about Loadholt, but Loadholt might be gone since I think he gets picked up before Beatty... he appears to be a nasty run blocker.
