I am hearing an AWFUL lot of noise in circles over the past few days about the Bills taking Tyson Jackson 11th overall, and that’s IF he’s even on the board.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
And although this isn’t new, don’t be surprised if Kelsay is no longer a Bill by the end of this draft.<o:p></o:p>

Jackson would be the all-purpose guy for the Bills. DE on run downs and kick inside to DT on passing downs.

Im ok with it if we take a pass rusher at #28.

An all purpose guy who switches positions at #11?

No thanks.

Trade back and take Pettigrew.

Jackson is the last de that I want in this draft.

Im not crazy about the guy either. Bottom line though, he is a very good football player overall when it comes to nuances of the game, IQ, versatility. That's what makes him a solid prospect.

Jacksons more of a 3-4 DE and he could go as high as 3 to the Chiefs. I'm still a Ayers guy in the 1st rd. Preferably we could trade down a few spots and still grab him.

As for Kelsay cut him now. He's been dead weight on this team for years.

Why people want Ayers blows my mind. He has 3 CAREER SACKS. He is a black Kelsay!! We don't need another Kelsay type DE, we need a pass rusher. There is no reason for the Bills to not go DE or OT with pick #11. The LB depth is very good where we can land one with pick #28 (Clay Matthews maybe).

Yeah - what's with this Ayers hype? We were fine stopping the run last year, but sucked rushing the passer. Ayers and his 2 sacks last year doesn't make sense?

I go #11 Everette Brown, #28 James Laurinaitis #42 Gerald Cadogan

3 starters at 3 need positions.

Jackson would be a HORRIBLE pick and would bring no improvement to this defense. He doesn't rush the QB...not a good pick.

No, 3rd round...Nelson or Beckum or Coffman.

As of Sunday evening the 19th, PFW (Nawrocki) and NFL.com (Gil Brandt) both had Jackson now going 3rd OVERALL to KC.

We probably end up there anyway and it will have nothing to do with starting 3 rookies. Those players are probably better then anything at those positions already on this roster.

Isn't KC running a 3-4 now? If that's the case, then yes, he would fit in perfectly.

Did anyone see Path to the Draft last night? Charlie Casserly said he thinks the Lions are going to take Aaron Curry with the #1 overall pick. Boy would that shake things up

So you don't think Brown is not an upgrade over Kelsay, Laurinaitis is not an upgrade over Ellison, and Cadogan is not an upgrade over ... well nobody?

It always surprises me the reluctance to go with rookies. After seeing the dross handed out by veterans then why not?

If they win the position coming out of training camp/pre-season then they'd have earnt it ... if not they'll have pushed the veterans to perform better.

If we can 7-9 with no pass rush from kelsay, mediocre play from Ellison and the dross presented to us by Dockery and Peters, why can't we do better?

As for the TE, I still hold out hope of being able to trade for Scheffler with the pick we have gotten trading Parrish.

He can rush the QB from the inside and provide run support on the outside on first down or running downs.

Like I said I would only take him if a pure pass rusher was going to be selected at 28 like Sidbury who is my fav player in the draft.

I like Jackson, and I think he is top 10 worthy. will he go that high? maybe, maybe not. The guy is going to be a solid player for his entire career in the NFL.

That might happen without starting 3 rookies. So might as well let them start and get some experience.

Didn't Miami start Jake Long, Philip Merling and Jevon Langford? Didn't Atlanta start Matt Ryan, Sam Baker and Curtis Lofton?

I seem to think that going from 1st in the draft to 25th and from 3rd to 24th isn't too shabby?

If they start, they are better then who we have now. How could that hurt? How could upgrading 3+ starters with young studs be a bad thing?

Jackson wont make it past GB and G.Brandt seems to think he is going top 5 so I dont think we will even have the chance to select him

I wouldn't be surprised. About a month ago, at combine time, Perry Fewell was on Sirius NFL Radio w/Kirwin and Carrucci and singled out Tyson Jackson as someone they really like.

Here's my thread about it from back then: http://www.billszone.com/fanzone/showthread.php?t=170518

I wouldn't be too surprised to see Jackson go to the Bills.

However, I have to hesitate when I hear all of this pre-draft hype. I just read the other day that the Chiefs are "enamored" with him. There seems to be a lot of hype over Jackson this week, when I heard almost nothing prior to this week. That says smokescreen to me.

I don't think he's a top 10 pick, although a team like GB might reach if Raji is off the board. He's been a mid-first pick all along, and suddenly this week he's close to being a top five pick? I won't believe it until I see it. Sounds like misdirection to me.

If we draft Tyson or Ayers it will be for LDE not RDE... typically not your pass rushing specialist.

In this draft there are more solid options for us at LDE. Most RDE options are tweeners or not fully tested with an upside players.
