This is a pretty cool mock draft, done as a roundtable. Anyway, I was pretty surprised to see Gruden say that. They have the Bills taking Oher at 11 and Pettigrew at 28.

Jon Gruden: "We have pass rushers. I've got the best receiving core in football. I'm going to throw the rock now, I'm going to spread you out and throw it. I could use some defensive help, but I have to keep my quarterback healthy. If Edwards is healthy, Edwards can play. I'm going to Ole Miss to find Michael Oher."

Btw, where's Mayock's mock? I've been waiting for it for a while now. Ever since he nailed the Whitner pick, he's had the mock to keep an eye on.

I'm kind of wondering if Mayock simply isn't going a mock this year. He would have put it out by now if he was.

We have pass rushers?

What Bills team has he been watching?

Healthy, these "bums" had 40 sacks and finished 8th. The last 2 years they haven't been healthy, so that could be a legitimate argument

Does Gruden really have Bills season tickets?

btw, best WR's in football? Who cares without an OL?

Evans and Owens will be wide open down the field while Edwards' ass is buried in the turf below a 300 lb nose tackle.

After this season, maybe he'll have a front-row seat on the sidelines next year!

It was 36 sacks

Schobel 14
Denney 6
Kelsay 5.5
Triplett 2.5
Fletcher 2
Crowell 2
Spikes 1
Hargrove 1
Simpson 1
Ellison 1

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/teams/buf/stats?year=season_2006

Kelsay averages under 3 sacks per season over his career. It was the only season he had over 5 sacks in six years

Denney averages just over 3 sacks per season. It was the only season he had over 5 sacks in seven years

2006

and the players who got those sacks have been in a steady decline ever since. Kelsay is below average and Schobel is overrated. In case you don't remember, our pass rush wasn't exactly stellar before Schobel got hurt last year, and that was against some pretty lousy teams.

translation: that's what statisticians call an "anomaly". It won't happen again.

Your pass rush won't be stellar (or needed) when you had one of the worst run defenses in the league that year. Lack of pass rush is overrated at this point. We still can't stop the run.

Would be nice to have a coach with some passion like this.

A chance to help our run defense AND pass rush. Sounds like a no brainer to me.

interesting quote from Mayock... who seems to be one of the most knowledgable.

Mike Mayock: "I think if Buffalo had their wishes on Saturday, what happened today would be exactly what happens. An offensive tackle with the first pick and a tight end with their second pick, that would be ideal. I think that's exactly what they want."

Maycock should change his name to Iscock if he think Everette Brown will not going in Round1

Not until Bolden is officially not a Cardinal, and then it still might be debateable when you consider Breaston had over 1000 yds last year, too.

A wide out corp of:

Jerry Rice, Randy Moss, Marvin Harrison, and Larry Fitzgerald

WOULD SUCK

With the Bills current offensive line. It doesnt matter who you have running around out there if your QB is going down in 3 seconds every time he drops back...
