Monroe could be Bills' target...I'm not buying the recent report that the Bills may make an attempt to move up for Alabama OT Andre Smith. Smith is being viewed as a right tackle in the scouting community, but the Bills are looking for a left tackle to replace Jason Peters. I wrote back on 04/19 and 04/21 that the Bills could make an attempt to move up to the Jaguars pick at No. 8 for left tackle Michael Oher, but a league source told me he didn't think the Bills would be willing to pay Top 10 money for a prospect that could possibly be available at the Bills pick at No. 11. Virginia OT Eugene Monroe is a whole different story, there's no chance that Monroe will slip to the Bills pick at No. 11, but he could be available at the Browns pick No. 5, depending on what happens in the first four picks of the draft. Moving up for a left tackle like Monroe, and paying Top 5 money, would make much more sense, than moving up for Smith, who is viewed as a right tackle candidate.-Al Fronczak

Personally I think it is a smoke screen and in reality if the Bills were going to trade up for anyone it would be Curry...from what I have read they are very high on him

If they move up to draft a LT and give him a 6 year, $60 million contract I will do something horrible to Brandon and Ralph.

could be. could not be. I'm done with even thinking about this because its such a crapshoot and filled with smokescreens.

What concerns me about Monroe is that he is considered good in all areas, but not exceptional in any.

There was an article when they asked several GMs about the OTs and Jason Smith, Monroe and Andre Smith graded well above Oher.

However Monroe was not considered No1 in any of the catergories considered.

I think if you are going to move into the Top5 then it has to be for an exceptional player - a can't miss WR, QB, RB etc

I am not sure if Monroe could be described as exceptional.

I think Monroe is the Pats target. That is who they are thinking of trading with Jax or GB to get, IMO.

I think the Bills are gonna sit tight and wait and see if a tackle falls to them. I have a strong feeling they think one of the OT's is gonna be on the board at 11 which is why they traded Peters.

These people reporting this must be the most ignorant individuals on Earth! This team will not move up that high and pay the money that they wouldn't pay a proven LT with NFL experience. Won't happen!

I am not in favor of trading up at all especially for an OT. For one, the Bills have too many holes and if they traded up they would lose the opportunity to fill some of those holes and twoif they traded up for a OT not only do you pay them similar money you could of paid Peters but you also lose your pick you gained by trading up for him. ou basically end up with a tackle which you had before and did not address any other position in round one.

You were dead on about the Patriots drafting Jerod Mayo last year.

Sometimes I wonder if you are actually Bill Belichick or something...

No. Last year it was the one that made the most sense, based off what others said. It wasn't mine or anything.

I don't have any inside info, but I usually browse the news quickly so I copy very well!

Maybe so. Take your pick then:

I see. I remember most of the "Experts" had the Patriots taking either Leodis McKelvin or Branden Albert. I never noticed Jerod Mayo being a Top 10 pick in any mock draft.

I think some people even laughed at you when you suggested Mayo with the 8th overall pick. Then you made a comparison of him to Patrick Willis.

And you turned out to be exactly right...

So who do you think the Bills will select?

I'd have to change my handle to SSaratoga or OpIv38, because I wouldn't have any interest in giving this organization the tiniest benefit of the doubt ever again.
