I've just been doing an analysis of one of the great DE's taken at No11, Dwight Freeney with Everette Brown and Aaron Maybin.

If Freeney had come out in his junior year, his production would have been almost identical to Maybin. Freeney started 10 of 27 games, making 54 tackles (35 solo) and 16.5 sacks. Maybin started 10 of 26 games, making 61 tackles (38 solo) and 16 sacks.

Freeney came out having stated 22 of 39 games, making 104 tackles (68 solo) and making 34 sacks

Brown has started 25 of 41 games, making 100 tackles (70 solo) and finishing with 23 sacks. Remember these figures are 3 years for Brown but 4 years for Freeney.

So Brown has as much game experience as Freeney had. Not only that 8 of the 25 starts were at LE so he has the experience that could lead him to being paired with Schobel.

I'd take some of that at #11 too.

If the Bills are able to take a defensive end at No. 11 instead of Brian Cushing, they'll have to find an outside linebacker in the next few rounds. They can't afford to get debacled by Keith Ellison for another season.

Its realistic. Gonzo traded means Pettigrew will be at 28, we know Loadholt will be at 42, and Orakpo has a strong chance of falling.

OK, first off, there's a chance Pettigrew could drop... he may not. I don't see it as a given.

Second, the same can be said for Loadholt.

That said, Id love it if we landed both.

Loadholt is behind Beatty, Smith, Monroe, Smith, Oher, Britton, and kind of Unger as a tackle. Thats 7 OTs listed in front of him. I think he will fall to us. Hes more of a top 5 in the 2nd guy but those teams generaly look for the BPA who fell out of the 1st.

Loadholt, IMO would become our replacement guard... Walker could take the left tackle position

C- Luigs
RG- Hangartner

I'd be wiping the sick from my shirt in disappointment

Orakpo - I am becoming concerned that he might be the Derrick Harvey of the draft. He takes plays off ... I am not convinced. I would actually take EVERETTE BROWN instead as his college stats are better. All Orakpo has is a little more size but Brown has starting experience at LE

Pettigrew - Not a need. We can get a starting TE in R3 if necessary. Pettigrew is not in the same class as the guys coming out next year. We cannot fulfil all our needs in one draft so lets not reach for a good but not exceptional player. For me WLB is a bigger need so draft LAURINAITIS

Loadholt - we need a LT. Walker can be a short term fix but not long term. Bell might not eventually make it. I would draft CADOGAN who can also play LG. A Bell-Cadogan left side will be there for a decade. Cadogan can start between Walker and Hangartner whilst Bell comes along.

Luigis - why a C, when we've got Hangartner and McKinney under contract? No reflection on Luigis but this needs to be spent elsewhere. With problems with Simpson and Whitner a FS is better. With McGee entering a contract year a CB might be considered. Draft SHERROD MARTIN who has experience in both positions like Jeff Burris.

Hunt - why are we drafting this weakling? Is this our Bryan Smith of McNeese St pick? He may be athletic but he has zero strength. Walker is approaching a contract year soon, so draft KRAIG URBIK a real roadgrader.

Follett - Kevin Ellison Mk2? Slower than thought and not as strong. I'd take TRAVIS BECKUM, who has fallen due to injury, but was stronger, faster and and with more athleticism than Pettigrew. Shows effort and pop while blocking and if he doesn't work out, he can always be asked to drop weight and take over from Owens, while we draft Gresham next year. A 243lbs TE or a 225lbs WR with enough speed.

Simpson - I assume the RB from Virginia. So he'll be the fifth ranked guy and may make the practice squad only? So will a UDFA. Pick up a second TE in a deep class with DAN GRONKOWSKI. Big, as athletic as Pettigrew, a better blocker allowing Schouman to move full time to FB and very useful in 2 TE sets.

Abdallah - Here we may agree, but I think he has seriously underachieved with the Buckeyes. As a 4th tackle, I'd take VAUGHN MARTIN from Canada, 6ft4, 334lbs, runs the 40 in 4.97 and considered very agile for a man his size. No M-Boobs, looks like he's 290lbs. A better long term prospect.

Simpson - a FB? No. We can move Schouman there. We could sign a veteran like Zac Keasey who has done well with the 49ers. Draft a QB to develop like Drew Willy. If he does well, he might have future trade value. After all no-one though Matt Cassell would be worth a future No2.

Brown v Orakpo; the difference is paper thin.
Laurinaitis would definitely start, Follett probably won't.
Loadholt really struggled when asked to play at a different position. Cadogan has specifically focused on his versatility and is very competent LT and LG.
Martin could easily be starting with or instead of Whitner, Luigis will be buried for depth.
Pettigrew will be a starter but I think the competition between Fine, Beckum, and Dan Gronkowski would produce an effective guy at TE.

I'd think my first 4 picks would be starters on Day1 and 5 of my first 6 picks might be as well.

1a. Brown LE - starter over Denney/Kelsay
1b. Laurinaitis WLB - starter over Ellison
2. Cadogan LG - starter over ?
3. S Martin FS - starter over Simpson definitely, Whitner back to SS
4a. Urbik RG/T
4b. Beckum TE possible starter over Fine or Gronkowski
5. Gronkowski TE
6. V Martin DT
7. Willy QB

Orakpo, best DE in the past 2 drafts. Pettigrew best TE in past 3 drafts. Loadholt, best tackle availble and Walker is our LT. McKinney I like, but I think hes a better backup. Luigs is a center and Hangartner can play guard better than C. Hunt is weak but thats what the weight room is for. If he gets stronger than he will be a great pick in the 4th. Follet will be a very solid player and better than any LB we have filling in for Crow.

Pettigrew would start
Luigs would defintley start
Orakpo would start
Loadholt would start
and possibly Follet

Right now we have 4 LBs fighting for the spot. Digi, Ellison, Thomas, and Bowen. 2 would be decent and a LB in the 1st would make no sense. We need a LB in the later rounds that would be solid. We dont need a great LB as much as a great TE or DE. Martin would defintley not start day 1. Urbik may but probably wont. Niether TE you mentioned would, and why 2 TEs? Thats a waste. That leaves only 3 starters from your draft
