Amid reports that Rams receiver Torry Holt plans to pull a Joe Horn in St. Louis, league sources tell us that Holt's teammates quietly are questioning whether the four-year veteran deserves a big raise.
The word is that Holt's work habits have been spotty of late, and that he dropped a few too many balls last season. As a result, some within the organization believe that Holt presently does not deserve a blockbuster deal.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported on Wednesday that the Rams offered Holt a contract similar to the $42 million deal signed by teammate Isaac Bruce in 2000. Holt likely views himself as having greater worth than Bruce, and we suspect that he wants something closer to Moss money.
